Check out this poster from the National Congress of American Indians. Interesting juxtaposition. While the Cheif Wahoo has a classic folk-arty charm. It’s undoubatly outdated and racist. What do you guys think? Certainly the Washington Redskins is a more offensive name. But the Chief Wahoo’s got them beat in the offinsive logo game.
Then there’s the Whities from the streetwear brand Hella Tight. They even decked out a whole team in Whities uniforms. Can you love something and find it offensive at the same time? My design compass is messing with my spinning moral compass.
Last week the Phillies recognized the winners of their Minor League Step Up Community Service Award program. Honoring reps from across their Minor League system. I always knew Brandiose had a big presence in the Phils organization but seeing all these jerseys lined up like this surprised me. Not that we’re keeping track or anything, but that’s 5 out of 6 jerseys designed by Brandiose and 3 out of 6 that we had a hand in naming. Feels good!

We’ve found some of the best sports marketing ideas come out of Japan, and Japanese-beer maker Kirin’s frozen beer foam may be one of the best! Just popping up within the last week at Dodger Stadium, the beer Slurpee comes out of a margarita machine. At 23 degrees, they say it will keep a beer ice cold for 30 minutes. And that’s something to toast to!
